New Orleans Charter Math and Science High School

Welcome to the Advanced Placement (AP) Homepage.  SciHigh is one of four public high schools in New Orleans participating in the AdvanceNOLA AP Program.  This is our first year offering a full selection of AP classes, and we are very proud of all of our seniors and juniors who are participating. 

 

Our AP classes are open to all students, as long as they have the necessary pre-requisites.  We believe all students should be afforded the opportunity to achieve the highest level of rigor available, regardless of their prior academic success.  We work closely with students and their families to ensure that our AP students are aware of the intensity and dedication necessary to be successful in an AP class, and then we let students decide whether they are ready for the challenge.  

 

Our Current AP Classes

This year, we have 2 classes of AP Biology, and one class each of AP Calculus, AP Chemistry, and AP English Language.  Overall, 53 students took 71 AP tests.

 

Next year SciHigh will have the following AP and Pre-AP Courses:

Pre-AP English II (sophomores)

AP English III (juniors)

AP English IV (seniors)

AP American History (juniors)

Pre-AP Chemistry (juniors)

Pre-AP Pre-Calculus (juniors)

AP Chemistry (seniors)

AP Biology (juniors and seniors)

AP Calculus (seniors)

 

SciHigh encourages all students in AP classes to take AP tests in May.  Through our funders at AdvanceNOLA, we pay for AP tests for every student enrolled in an AP class.
